October 4 -12, 2019


DAY ONE 

Check in to Riad Berbere

Centrally located in the heart of the Medina, is the ideal home base from which to explore the city. At only five suites it blends the old-world charm of traditional Moroccan Riad with local artworks and furnishings, so no two are alike— 

A Light lunch and afternoon tea will be served in the shade of luxuriant banana, orange and olive trees. Gentle yoga session on the patio to work out jet lag 

Dinner in cosy downstairs salon, fragrant couscous or tagine dishes and other Moroccan delicacies 


DAY TWO

We will visit Jardin Majorelle – designed by famed painter Jacques Majorelle and and once home of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé. Onto the Koutoubia Mosque and the other-worldly Saadian Tombs. Absorb the soul and fabric of Moroccan art and culture. 

We will also head to the Jemaa el Fna, the main square, at night – a magical, almost mystical experience. 

Dinner the chic and popular restaurant Le.Jardin, a beautifully renovated 16th Century building with a menu that offers a choice of traditional Morrocan cuisine 


DAY THREE 

The heartbeat of Marrakesh is undoubtedly the souks or markets of the Medina in the old city. A honeycomb of connecting alleyways where all five senses are alive, Anabel our local guide will point you in the direction of whatever you’re after— handmade slippers, exotic spices, rose oil, a perfectly brewed glass of mint tea— and give you some indispensable bartering tips in the process. 


DAY FOUR

And since a stay in Marrakech wouldn’t be complete without an authentic Hammam ritual experience. This ritual can be followed by a dip in the pool — that said, many last spots in and around the Medina await if you get a second wind. Conclude our stay in Marrakesh with a candlelight dinner at Riad berbere. The sights and sounds of the medina at night, viewed from the airy roof terrace of our historic 17th-century Riad. 


DAY FIVE | THE DESERT AND BEYOND 

Onto the Agafay Desert with its oases and dry river beds. The Scarabeo Camp’s is tucked into a particularly picturesque pocket known as the stone desert. This will be our mid day break on the way to the atlas mountains to enjoy a stunning lunch set-up that looks like something out of a storybook. 

Nestled high in the Atlas Mountains, We will be staying at the Kasbah du Toubkal a truly one of a kind place among the peaks of the Atlas. Situated on a rise, it overlooks the entire area and has magnificent views of the mountains and valleys that surround it.


DAY SIX 

Time to unwind. In the morning there will be a longer yoga practice including meditation.  Mid day Relax enjoy a massage. Sip traditional mint tea on the terrace, looking out at the valley and the sheer slopes in the distance.  Dinners at the Kasbah showcase the finest traditions of Berber cuisine.


DAY SEVEN

Hiking in the Atlas Mountains is something you will never forget. There are few places in the world as remote as these mountains and the villages in them. After a good nights’ rest our guide will be waiting for us for our hike.  Also known as the High Atlas, mules carry all the essentials so you can enjoy traveling light and hike the pastoral valleys, hidden passes, through gentle slopes, cutting through small mountain streams that lead to panoramic ridges.


DAY EIGHT 

Get a glimpse of rural Moroccan life with a visit to the adobe village of Imlil.  At the foot of the country’s highest peak, Jebel Toubkal, here pink houses are spaced unevenly through the village with numerous trees – mostly walnut – interspersed around them. Meet local villagers, draw water from the well, and take part in a cooking demonstration and have lunch at an authentic Berber home.
