Prior to her years teaching yoga, she had a high profile career in New York City in the design department for Ralph Lauren Womenswear and then as a wardrobe and prop stylist for renowned commercial photographers and ad agencies. In a life changing event, what began as a two week retreat commenced a nine-month stay and spiritual practice. In 1996, the then Kripalu Center, where she did her initial training, was small residential yoga community offering a curriculum of yoga, meditation, and in-depth self-discovery programs to its residents.
informed by numerous trainings, teaching, travel and the challenges of life, Kimberly endeavors to brings a wealth and purity of information. Her approach provides rigor and discipline, without being so rooted in dogma that there is no room for exploration and growth. Having worked extensively with Anna Forest, Edward Clark and Kofi Busi, Kimberly’s teaching is premised on traditional methods but with the knowledge that this foundation sets the basis for one’s continued development. Understanding the complexities of asana as a way to simplify life and to appreciate the everyday are the tenants that underlie her philosophy. currently she is under the tutelage of tom meyers, studying structural integration, body mapping and body based trauma.
Kimberly brings this approach to her weekly group classes and private clientele in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as to numerous international residencies and retreats throughout Europe, Central and North America.
